One major plus about living at the Jersey shore is that I get my choice of beaches. Most of the time, however, I stick to the beach in Wildwood. Wildwood is one of the few beaches remaining in the area that does not requiring forking over cash for beach tags. It also has the most entertainment available for individuals who are looking for a great vacation spot.
In addition to the free beach, Wildwood has a boardwalk with plenty of shops, restaurants, and amusement park rides. Families can spend hours enjoying Morey’s Pier and Mariner’s Landing, which are the piers where the rides can be found. There are also two large water parks to take advantage of-Raging Waters and Ocean Oasis.
Of course, one of the things I look for when booking a vacation for my family is the ability to spend time learning about the history of the area. Vacationers can do this by visiting the Wildwood Crest Historical Museum located at 5800 Ocean Avenue. While in Wildwood, you will also want to stop by the lighthouse in North Wildwood. If you are into military history, then the Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum is the place to go.
Guests can expect hotels to be more expensive the closer they are to the beach, so if you are looking for a place to stay that won‘t hurt your budget, try a hotel that sits back a few blocks. Wildwood isn’t a big town, and most hotels are within walking distance to the boardwalk and beach.
While in Wildwood, you can go miniature golfing, bowling, to see a movie, or spend a night on the town at one of Wildwood’s many clubs. There truly is something for everyone in this bustling summer town.
