Sadly, Jet Blue's All-You-Can-Fly deal is sold out but the airline does have an unrelated rival that is still offering up the Fall Free For All for the same great LOW price of $499 (excluding taxes and fees) for as much travel as you can handle between September 7th, 2010 to October 13th, 2010.
Never heard of them? Well you're certainly not alone. The airline is based in Minneapolis, MN and caters primarily only to that location. Most flights have to go from or Minneapolis, MN (or Lansing, MI) on at least part of the journey. The only way to make this deal a real steal would be if there was more open destinations. When flying using the current model a flight from Seattle to New York (JFK) would be a ticket from Seattle to Minneapolis and then from Minneapolis to New York. If your not completely offended by the layover then this is the all-you-can-fly deal for you (especially considering it is the only one available now)!
What kind of crazy marketing person thought up this genius idea? We will likely never know, but the reasons behind it are quite obvious. September is one of the slowest times for air travel. Historically, this has always been the case but it has been made worse with the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The thought of flying and having your ticket say 9-anything is enough to scare most passengers back to the train (or car).
The value this service provides for frequent travelers and the airline is win-win, however. The traveler can fly as much as they want (for the days during the pass) and take advantage of all the great destinations in one fell swoop. The airline can fill up the empty seats and make extra cash from the relatively unusual fees for advance seat assignments, and being a member of their frequent flyer program. I just hope the seats are as padded as the wallet of Sun Country when the deal (and extras) is all said and done.
